Retaining rules when removing device

I am facing some problems with my cameras and support keeps telling me to remove the batteries, then remove the device and resynch after. The problem is, I have a lot of rules. The moment I remove a device, that device's rules disappear. Even if I add back the same device and give it the same name, those rules which disappeared dont come back.

Is there a way I can remove a device and add it back without losing that device from my rules ?

Sadly no, but I also don't recall having to give the camera a name again once it re-syncs
