&lt;P&gt;Nope. If getting another full set is cheaper, get the full set. You can then either choose to sell or store the second base or you can use the second base. Having a second base is like having a second zone for cameras. A second base is especially useful if you have a very large area of spread out cameras with less than stellar camera-base signal strength. The only disadvantage is you can cross activate cameras sync'd to different base stations&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I've run Arlos, Pros, and Pro2s all on the same base ( which was even a Gen 1 base unit )&lt;/P&gt;</description>
