This is good to know! I had set it to 1% in the 'armed' mode; but yes i've cropped it thinking it only detects in that area.

I'll try re-aim it.

Hi,

So I have the Arlo cameras (non-pro) - and I have one on my front door and it seems to detect motion regardless of if any real motion is there.

I've turned it down to 1% and it faces a concrete ground and a door - I don't understand why it is detecting any motion.

I have also tried another camera - same issue.

Can someone explain what type of movement is required to cause the Arlo to detect motion at 1%?

My front door is near a main road - not much of a front yard, but the camera is not looking at the road at all - I've cropped the image to avoid that section. 50% of the screen is a door, and 50% is the concrete driveway.

It also very cold (winter) - so maybe when trucks drive past the gust of wind causes the motion sensor to trigger?

Where are you setting the sensitivity? It has to be set in your modes and saved.

The trucks are good reflectors of the sun's IR, making them easy to trigger recordings from a significant distance.

Cropping the picture has NO EFFECT on the PIR...the PIR still covers the entire field of view ...

You have to re-aim the camera to eliminate the roadway AND THEN crop to suit your usage

This info that the cropping don't effect the PIR is missing in the settings, you get the impression that it does.
