Hi there,

I have tried using Aluminum foil and that worked and I have also written a guide on how I made that home-made WiFi extender.

All I needed was a paper box and some foil paper from the kitchen. I was able to get better signals at the corner of the apartment where I got little or no signal before, but now, I'm getting at least 2 sticks on my iPhone which is great.

Live in a large 181 unit condo and would like to set the base staqtion up in the middle in the security room.

Problem is the signal does not reach the doors at the end of the condo.complex

Can the Arlo base station wireless provide the ability to a wifi range extender in the middle and at the same time not allow anyone else to piggyback onto the wireless signal?

Would like to hook up 4 cameras to the base staion with 4 extenders halfway from the camera to the Base station

To cover that range, you would probably need to use multiple base stations and pair a couple of cameras to each base. Unfortunately, the camera - base signal can't be boosted AFAIK

As a PS to above...

There is NO piggy-backing on your base unit wifi ...the base units have access ONLY for the cameras.

Second, the ONLY true way to expand the coverage area is by multiple bases....if a wifi extender isn't enough range to reach where you want the base placed, you'll have to move the bases closer to where you position the cameras.... this can also be done with runs of ethernet cable ( up to aprox 300ft )

There is no limit on the number of bases you can use on an account ( only limit is cameras based on service level )

The nice thing is the bases can also be at different locations but still on the same account ( so if you have mutli APs, you can have mutli bases all on the same account )
