Netgear is a horrible company. I have been fighting with them from day one becasue this camera system does not work properly and is so inconsistent. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. Some times it will detect movement and then the next it won't work or won't record. I am fed up with dealing with this everyday. I have spoken to support several times and no one seems to know what they're talking about and offer no resolution to the issues that I am having. Netgear will not refund my money( I paid $330 under a year ago) becasue they are a horrible company and do not care about their customers. I purchased this piece of crap system through Best Buy and I'm not even sure if they will take it back. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

After having it for almost a year I doubt Best Buy will take it back, but you can try ...suggest talking to a manager.

But, if you post exactly what is going wrong and the issues you have online here, more than likely it can be brought back to working order... If something is found defective, Netgear's warranty is fairly good at 1 year I believe.

My camera does not detect or record my 120 lb dog when he walks in the yard from side-to-side camerawise; however, it will record me doing the same thing. Since you can clearly see the path the dog has worn down in the video, seems to me you should see the giant dog walking down that path. Also, it will record me walking away from the camera to my back fence and then back, but when I walk along the fenceline there's no motion detected, and it's only about 20 feet away from the camera. What's up and how do I fix it?

Distance and angle can be key. 20 feet can be marginal depending on what else is in the view. Also, the dog is basically horizontal to the ground while you're vertical - this again may relate to the angle and what's in the view. Perhaps rotate the camera down. Post a screenshot for suggestions.

You can see from the picture where the dog usually runs in a J pattern. Since he's a Great Pyrenees who is taller than the chairs in the background, I can't understand why the camera doesn't pick him up. Thanks for any help

For starters, rotate the camera down to eliminate the street triggers which likely have little interest. Keep the sidewalk in the foreground if that's really important or rotate down more if not.

What is the sensitivity setting? Trying to trigger using waving arms really doesn't work since they're relatively small with a small IR signature.

The Pro cameras may be a better solution since motion detection works better.

Camera is pointing downward to get sidewalk as focal point. Sensitivity is set to high nineties. Seems to me, I was able to get people walking their dogs at one time. Don't know what happened. Thanks.
