I want to purchase the Arlo HD Security Cameras and what I understand from the website it that you get 7 days free cloud storage.... my question is though if I could set my cameras to store the recordings on my "MY CLOUD HOME" By WD - its a cloud storage system for your home instead of getting a storage plan.

I need recording storage for a one time for a period of 3 weeks so do not want to subscribe to a plan just for 3 weeks.

No.... tho the ARLO PRO does have a usb drive backup option, it is only for the same data that goes to the cloud IF the internet goes down....

You can't store just locally. AND, the backup drive is a backup and not directly accessable from the program, you must eject the drive and view the files on another device.

But you may be mistaken in the amount in the time...it is 7 days of rolling storage, in that on the 8th day, day 1 videos are auto deleted.. day 9 and day 2 is deleted, etc. The storage continues forever, it is just the previous seven days kept.

Also as a note, you can sign up for a higher level plan with 30 or 60 days storage by the month
