IN PREVIOUS CHAT I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO HAVE A ROUTER OF SOME KIND TO HOOK UP TO. SO WENT TO BEST BUY AND PURCHASED THE NIGHT HAWK AC1900 SMART Wifi ROUTER MODEL R7000. NOW MY ISSUE IS THAT I CANT CONNECT NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP HERE I'M SURE ITS SOMETHING SIMPLE THAT I'M NOT CATCHING.

good morning, well trying to connect the router to my portable wifi hot spot. my Arlo base unit connect to the router and the router connects via WPS to the hot spot, rite

The router would need to connect to your hotspot using an Ethernet cable like a typical home network. Just having a router doesn't fix the issue - it has to connect to your hotspot in the first place. The router will never connect to the hotspot via WPS.

Does your hotspot have an Ethernet port? If som the base should be able to connect there. If not, your only choice is to use a WiFi extender with an Ethernet port. You can then use WPS to connect the extender to the hotspot so the base has Internet access.

Almost any router will work provided it has an ethernet port to plug the base station into. Doesnt your internet modem have ethernet ports?

Orbi is just another router. The same issue remains - the router must connect to your hotspot via Ethernet so Internet access is achieved. If your hotspot does not have an Ethernet port, your ONLY choice is to use a WiFi extender.

As above, Orbi won't meet your needs. You need a range extender such as this

The range extender will connect to your hotspot and you can plug your base station into its ethernet port. The added win here is that it's significantly cheaper than buying an Orbi system. Orbi is great, just not suitable for your requirements

hello to all that assisted me with my wifi connection. i did get the extenderplugged my ethernet into its port underneath, cranked my laptop on and BAM!!!!!!!!!!

all good now, my next issue is trying to remember how i had all cam's on motion detection, please advise i wanna keep it simple later i'll try to learnn how to schedual the time stuff.

To have all cameras using motion detection, change the mode to ARMED. Once you familiarise yourself with how the system works, you can make custom modes and have rules that suit your needs, and you can create schedules to suit your comings and goings.
