I guess this works for monitoring an empty space with motion detection but it is absolutely useless for the retail environment unless you have someone sit there and monitor it, motion detection is like always, so 4 billion emails and so many vids to sort through. Really? I will never buy this again I can tell ya that lol. Neat idea but useless unless you are monitoring a warehouse or something where there is not much activity. Well I learned from my mistakes for the price I paid for this I could have got what I needed, my fault for thinking I could record locally but no its all about the cash in the cloud.

Alyjough I disagree with some of what you say, I agree the Arlo is not the best choice for every use. Having a battery operated cam is great for some uses, such as what I use mine for. but are totally wrong for others. One has to thoroghly research their product.
