So I guess most of my questions are moot until I understand if I have Arlo or Arlo Pro? My app icon just says Arlo. What determines which version I'm using? Is Arlo Pro an option or does it require a different subscription?

The model number tells you. There's also a model number on the base and camera to nail it down. Also, at the top of these pages are images of the different cameras as well as links to the products which you can use to visually identify the product.

Sorry, didn't answer the second part. The Pro cameras are just a newer, upgraded version of the wireless cameras. You can purchase them separately or as a system. my of the wireless cameras will work with either the original or Pro base stations.

If you're model number is VMS3330c as you indicate in the subject line, you have an original Arlo Wire-free (non-pro) kit.
