can i use the arlo pro cam with audio on my VMC 3030 base unit, or would i have to upgrade to the arlo pro base with camra. please advise.

Both the Arlo PRO cam AND regular Arlo work on either base

fantastic, i guess i should have asked this question too. so now that i know i can use the arlo pro cam with audio will it record audio as well???

Pro will have audio on the older Arlo base...

What you don't get is the Alarm and local record backup as they are built into the Pro base

ok, thanks i guess then now that i really like the arlo system i need to start almost completey over. would you agree that i should get the arlo pro with the audio camra and use it instead as my base then i can add audio camra's to it as i go into this and still be able to use my regular pro camra's with this base instead and will be able to get complete usage vursas loosing a few perks if i stuck with my regular arlo base, please advise

That's totally up to you... I don't think the older Arlo cameras are bad, and I haven't replaced mine.

Matter of fact, running 12 cameras ( arlo, pro, Q ) all with an older base.... but I have a higher paid subscription. There are bennies to that as it does give 30 or 60 days of storage, and I don't ( never did ) think that the local record was an overly important need.

I do like the Pro cameras as they do have a better response to movement, But I also like the Arlo cameras as they can use OEM cells or rechargeables ( of which I have 4 sets ).

I really feel that you have to think of your needs and pick the best cameras that fill that need... a combo of all works the best for me.

As to having a second base, there is no limit to the number of bases... nor is there a requirement that they be in the same location. So you can watch a second location if needed.

Also they second base is needed to really exapnd the coverage area if needed
