Use live view. However unless you hit record while in live view there will be no recording.

Keep in mind that the advertised battery life is based on 300 seconds (5 minutes) of recording per day.

You can change the recording length from the default 10s up to 120s per clip.

If you use live view too often or for extended periods or exceed the 5 minutes per day your battery life will be greatly reduced.

Bottom line is that these battery operated cameras are not designed for constant live monitoring.

The Arlo Q and Q plus however do have this option.

Also if you manually start recording, it will time out after 30 min, again to protect the battery life.
