I have learned somethings - still need to learn how to post a pic but for now I am gonna close the open case w/support bc the deleted camera suddenly appeared on its own about 2 days ago and was still present at last look.

This happened after I opened a case with support so I think it was something changed on the website cuz I was not able to add it myself then it suddenly appeared.

Enuff to drive a person crazy.

Was trying to reply to another thread but wasn't able to so I will list the problems here.

I'm new here and was reading about some of the common problems and it seems I also have them.

1. The pink or colored images - yes it has shown up on mine also. Have no idea what causes it cuz they were fine then it started but only on certain cameras - I do have 5 and then it seems to go away?

2. Sensitivity to reflections day or nite - YES, oh my, I have stopped using it during the day so now only at night and yes I have tried reducing the sensitivity.

3. Email notifications - after getting them for awhile they just stopped.

4. Motion sensitivity - yea I can pull right up with my car and it does't trigger but finds any car just driving by.

There are prob more but will let it go at that for now. And please don't misunderstand me I do like the cameras but yea they are pricey too but I even use one to watch the wildlife out back and she also loves that.

1) if cameras going pink and after resetting them , it comes back , then contact Netgear re possible warranty replacement

2) along with sense level, placement of the camera is important, doen't try to cover to much area ,and angle the cameras down a bit to avoid reflections from cars, etc

3) power cycle base with power button, if an app, deleted and reinstall on phone, check email by using a second one in Mode

4) one again #2, motion accross the field of view is picked up better than straight on... car driving by need to be eliminated by placement... people are picked up to a max of about 20 ft but ir reflections much more...

In # 2 and #4, a snapshot from the camera would help with suggustions

1. Not pink at present but has been in the past on diff cameras. Is there a specific reset method?

2. Always working on placement but two are up on the house so this all takes time. Right now I may be on to something but for example in daytime it is reflections from the sun so I no longer turn on during daytime. Night time its reflections from headlights. In both cases the reflections shine off the car windows - the cars are what I am trying to capture.

3. <check email by using a second one in Mode> do you mean a 2nd email addy? Can do but this all worked for the longest then just suddenly stopped.

4. I may try turn the camera sideways but isn't there a way to do that is settings also?

Being new here I don't know how snapshots are posted to this forum?

Thanks,

Keep the thoughts coming.

GumbyD,

1. You can reboot your camera by opening and closing the battery compartment door. After closing, the camera will resync to the base station (rapid blue LED).

2. It may take some trial and error to find the best location for your Arlo cameras, take a look for more tips on placement here: How do I position my Arlo Wire-Free or Arlo Pro Wire-Free camera?

3. It sounds like your email provider may be blocking email notifications, check your spam folder and consider contacting your email provider to see if Arlo alerts are being blocked.

4. There is an option within camera Settings to invert the image (Settings > My Devices > select desired camera > Video Settings > Invert Image).

1. Ok so that is how I have been doing it.

2. Repositioned some today mainly due to sudden battery drain. That will be another thread. Also after refreshing the batteries in one cam it showed the pink/red color hue. One the other day showed a blue hue.

3. < It sounds like your email provider may be blocking email notifications, check your spam folder and consider contacting your email provider to see if Arlo alerts are being blocked.> I am gonna say that I know for sure that is absolutely not the problem. First, I always check the spam folder several time a week AND with the shear number of emails I was getting (once upon a time) it would not be hard to see the # increase w/o even opening the spam folder. So I think the website is just not sending them for some reason. It stopped all of a sudden after I had way too many alarms sent to me.

4. Tried the reverse image option that is not what I want. I ended up adjusting the position of two cams and moving a 3rd to cover the area of interest the most. So where I had 2 cams I now have 3 - we'll see how this plays out.
