arlo vms3330 Wirelass cameras - HUGE delay/lag

Seems that every thread about lag in this forum is based upon lag between the sensor and the recording. But I've got a issue with lag/delay on the stream itself. Im talking about 30 seconds delay. It seems to be a thing, that the more cameras I stream at the same time, the more lag. This can't be the intent? It's supposed to be able to stream 16 cameras at the same time. How good does that do, when the robberer is in the next country when you see him steal something on yout screen? When I tried with only one camera, I had about 2 seconds delay (which is barely accaptable), and with two cameras, maybe 10 seconds, and than 20-30 with 3 cameras. Can I do anything to imporve this, or is the system simply **bleep**? Moving the camera closer to the router didn't seem to help. My internet has 19 mbps down and 0.34 up.

First the max number of streaming cameras at the same time is 5

Second, you upload speed is the trouble... Min suggested is 1Mbs for the upload.

Call me stupid, but isn't streaming necessary for video surveillance? I own a store, and have bought a set of 6 cameras, and would like to stream them all to a monitor in the back room. So that's not possible with this system (with the current internet in the shop)?

Not stupid... but not knowing. What you want doesn't sound possible with the Arlo cameras.

These are not 24/7 type cameras fro streaming. They are "motion -detect - record ". In which once the camera is Armed, when it detects motion, the cameras will then record for the time set in the rule ( 10 to 120 secs ).

If motion continues in front of the camera after the record time, the camera resets ( about 15-20 secs ) and will again record for the set time....repeat as needed. Usage on batteries is a choice between battery life vs recorded time....spec use is 5 mins per day to achieve battery stated life.

Also, If you are live streaming, the cameras will auto shut down at 30 mins ( to stop from over use of batteries if forgotten on )

The only camera Netgear has that may suit your needs is the Q cameras with the CVR option...they can record 24/7 as they are also ac powered.

( but your upload is way to slow for a Q camera, IMO )

Hm...thanks for your help! I realize now that the arlo cameras are more of a house-protecting service, than for professional surveilance use. Do you think the Q cameras work as a solution if I get the internet upgraded?

In all honesty, I think you would be better with wire cameras and a local record machine/ monitor, esp with a business.

You may be able to use the Q cameras IF, your upload speed was above 5-7 Mbs ( as each Q cam can max at 1.5 mbs up ) and two, you opted for the CVR recorder option... the Q cameras hook into you own wifi so you also would need a wifi system that covered your entire store
