Hi, the maximum range I get before it detects motion is about 8 feet. I've tried aiming higher and lower and also varying the sensitivity but little changes.

Arlo camera work well but require a bit of trial and error to set up.....

Here's are the basics;

Keep the motion ( to be detected ) traveling across the field of view rather than straight on

Try not to cover to large an area as for people the max range of the sensor is 20ft

Have the camera up about 7 ft+... ( out of reach )
