Wireless camera will not sync after changing batteries

The batteries ran out and I did not change them for several months. I finally got around to changing the batteries and now the unit will not sync. Any suggestions? I have tried deleting the device. The blue light flashes and then the orange light flashes rapidly. It seems pretty easy to set up.....but I don't know why it is not syncing. Thanks for the help.

Make sure you only hit the sync button on the camera briefly; don't hold it down

I think the router is offline. How do I get the router back online or can I sync to my cable companies router?
