So if I understand you correctly the camera will not connect to the base station by first jumping onto the Cisco AP and then finding the base station on the network. Just want to be really really sure because it means the difference between selling my Arlo system for something more robust or keeping what I have. Your input is much appreciated. Thankyou.

I would like to know if I can add a Cisco WAP 4410N AP to increase the distance between the Arlo camera and its base station. So my question is this. If the camera can detect the Cisco AP, will be able to find the base station on my home network? Or must the camera connect directly to the Arlo base station?

Thanks

That's correct, it will not do that. The camera's make a direction connection to the base, not your actual wifi network.

Thank you for the input. The fact that the cameras do not get IP addresses from the router lead me to believe that adding a WAP would not work. Wanted to be sure. I am now.
