Your Base sets up it's own wifi network ( normal 802.11 wifi ), the Cameras ONLY link to the base system.

So , yes, the cameras MUST be in range of the base AND they will not work on extenders or APs. They can only sync to one base at a time.

Range with Arlo is about the same as any wifi network and is limited by building materials, interference, etc.

The ONLY way to really expand the coverage area of Arlo is by using more than one base ( there is no limit on the number of bases on any service level )

Bases CAN hook into extenders or other APs via ethernet to do this.

Mind that when you use more than one base, they will be separate,,,, each base will have to be armed, disarmed, run its own schedule ,etc.

( i actually like this as I use two differnt schedules for the front and back yard, YMMV )

I am fixing arlo cameras in a big villa where i am using many Wireless APs to extend Wi-Fi coverage. My question is once i sync my cameras with the base station, does it still need to be in the base station coverage area as it is limited? or it is good as far as it is in the same Wi-Fi network range as my base station is connected through and the connectivity from the camera to the base station will be relayed through the Wi-Fi network?
