No color on the Internet LED indicates no connection to the router. That could be a bad cable or a bad port on either the base or the router. Are any LEDs lit? What color?

Make sure the port is functional by running the cable to another device like a laptop.

If good, do a reset of the base ( hold the reset button about ten secs till the front leds flash ) then resync cameras

I appreciate your response. The RJ45 jack on the cable modem is on. Green. I also switched the cat 5 cable. And, I have two base stations so swapped them out. Also tried holding the reset button 10+ seconds. Nothing I do seams to get the base station to connect to my internet. If you have other suggestions I'd certainly appreciate your help.

thx

Michael

Physically take the base over to your router, use the supplied 6 ft cable and plug it in there.. ( eliminates possible cable problems )

After a short while the internet light should come up. Also make sure the required ports are open; Open Ports 443 & 80

Excellent suggestions.

I have had the base unit on top of router each time I have tried.

Port 80 is open (internet) and 443 is SSL so I cant imagine my cable provide would block 443.

This worked fine in my prior house but for some reason cant get it to connect.

I appreciate you help -

It's not that the ports aren't open, it's that the ports may not be open to arlo.netgear.com. That's happened before on ISP-supplied routers. The ISP had to change settings to allow Arlo to work.

Did your network equipment change between houses or did you take the original set with you?
