I believe this is capable with the ArloQ cameras, but not the Arlo/Arlo Pro. See below for detailed explanation:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Knowledge-Base/How-does-the-motion-detection-feature-work-on-my-Arlo-cameras/ta-p/583

It would be great to be able to set one or more hot areas for each camera so that recording is only triggered if motion is detected in that area of the frame. This way, we can record more than the camera can see, but only trigger recording based on movement in specific areas. Not sure if the motion sensor is at all "tied" to the camera, so this may not even be possible...

I am coming from a logitech system (which logitech stopped supporting) that had this functionality and would also really, really, like to have it back. It tremendously cuts down on the amount of false positives which helps Netgear and helps us.

I have an Arlo Pro as my camera placement is outside.
