Just set up new Arlo cameras. They won't record. I have the rules set for each camera to record when motion is activitated. The motion detection works fine as I get an alert on my phone telling me when motion is detected. I then have the option to view that camera live. However, there are no recordings in the library.

Make sure you have no filter set in the library. The funnel-looking icon is the filter and should be empty. If not, click on it and reset it. Be sure to save.

The filter is empty. Camera is set to "any" and there is a check mark by each of the options (motion, audio, etc.)

I just tested it again and in case it is helpful will add one more thing I noticed. I got the alert that motion was detected so I opened the app on my phone and there was a little alert symbol on the library icon, but again when I went there it says zero recordings.

1.4.2695 is the firmware version for my base station and it says it's up to date.

Your base is way out of date. You don't which base you have, original or Pro, but both are 1.8.xxxx

I just got it in the mail replacing the former netgear one that is no longer supported. Anyway, when I click on the home base firmware it says it is up to date. It doesn't give me any other options. Why would Arlo send me one not up to date? That's pretty terrible.

What's in stock at various places, including stores, can vary wildly as to firmware versions. One never knows what one will get.

Did it update overnight? If not, try a reset, holding the button until the LEDs flash amber. Remove the base from Settings, My Devices and use the Add Device button on the Devices tab. What happens then?

It updated overnight and now is recording! Thanks for your help.
