Same thing on the app. Your usage is a bit out of normal but here's a possible solution:

- Use Settings, Grant Access to set up a guest account (with privileges, if desired) using a different email address

- Go through the acceptance procedure to get the account set up

- Open a new tab in your browser and log in using that account to monitor recordings

Hi, I have just bought the Arlo wireless system, and I was wondering can I manually record off it until I can get it put up outside?

It will be put up tomorrow outside, but I've currently just got it sat in my window for tonight, I know the motion or night vision won't work behind glass, but it's only temporarily there, and wondered if I could set it off recording now for a few hours, to see if I can catch the vandal as it's usually a Thursday night it happened?

Regards

Carl

Carlos73,

You can manually record by activating a live stream and then clicking on the record option. This will manually record and the resulting content will appear in your library after the stream has ended.

You can manually record but if you do this vai a computer and you leave that specific page the recording stops, not alot of use really. We routinely record users during an auditable period and its a real pain not to be able to click record and have it record continuously until i tell it to stop without having to keep that window open.

not tried it on the app but i assume the same applies

But this would still require that the tab on the browser window remains opened or if using the app, the user must not leave the app.

This is truly a pain for me. I would have thought it should be a no brainer to set up time durations during which full recording should take place. Or at least hit the record button and have the camera record till the user hits stop (even if there is a max of 4 hours or something like that)!

I too want this feature

I want to turn all of my camera's on record continuously for a period of time. Let's say, for example you have a babysitter, you could record the entire time, not just short clips for motion. There a many use cases for this. Essentially we need to be able to turn the cameras on record and then turn them off manually. An added bonus would be that option for a schedule - e.g. at 8AM, begin recording and at 9AM stop.

I think there are likely two requests here: first is continuous recording without having to stay in the app or browser and second allow manual recording from multiple cameras at the same time.

Thank you.

1) the Q of Baby cameras would be your best bets. Depending on how you use the cam, the ability to subscribe to CVR would likely be useful. I've tested the Q for over an hour using live view and manually recording but the file was huge (over a GB). Netgear would likely disallow this long term.

2) you can use live view and record manually up to 5 cameras at a time.
