I just changed the batteries in my cameras, but they still say the battery is low.

If I need to change the firm ware (I have 1.2.4941), how do I do that?

Do you doubt your cameras assessment of the batteries? i dont think you need to update the firmware to make dead batteries come alive...there's a possibility the batteries you got are actually DoA

that's what i thought at first. i took the batteries back, and bought replacements from a different company. still a no-go.

I have firmware 1.2.7730 installed but that may be beta firmware. If that's production firmware, that could explain your issue. Put batteries in, restart your base and let it run overnight to see if the automatic update occurs. If not, it may be best to remove the camera from Settings, My Devices and then resync it.

looks like i'm in the same situation...i replaced the batteries in two of my arlos a few weeks ago and the cameras didnt come back up, i thought the batteries were DoA..i have now boiught a new set of batteries and its the same response

i'm on firmware version 1.8.1_9169....someone pls help

is this latest firmware the cause of this problem? i threw away what i now know were perfectly good batteries because i thought they were DoA!!!! damn it Netgear, WTF?!

just made a crazy discovery, my two arlo cameras that are not coming online after changing the batteries have firmware 1.2.4941 while the other two that have been online have firmware version 1.2.7730

my base station is on the latest base station firmware 1.8.1_9169

how do i update the two cameras on the older firmware? looks like its reporting the false battery state because of the older firmware version and newer base station firmware

finally figured this out...looks like the latest base station firmware does not talk to a camera that's behind on camera firmware

if you changed your battery and the camera is not reporting the right battery state,

open the arlo app and confirm the camera has the latest camera firmware 1.2.7730...
if not, you need to toggle the camera off in the arlo app,
bring the camera close to the based station and push sync on both camera and base station

the arlo app will prompt you to update the camera firmware once the sync complete

I recently got a replacement camera, but it won't sync. Keeps flashing blue for several minutes minutes like it can't find the base station that is working fine with 3 other cameras?

Make sure the press of the sync button on the base is brief. Holding it down causes issues.

Open and close the battery door. Power cycle the base. Try again. If no luck, use the Contact Support link at the bottom here to open a case.

My batteries were low, so we replaced them. After we put the new batteries in, the alert saying the batteries were low was still on. We replaced the batteries again!

we've rebooted the base, and tried to re-connect the camera to the base. The camera's light flash as expected but the base's camera light doesn't flash.

What should we do next?

It's making me crazy.....

You may be holding the base sync button too long. Try a brief press - don't hold it.

Pick up a cheap volt meter from Harbor freight so that you can check the charge of each battery and is easy to do. I recently got a message that batteries on one of my cameras was low so I changed them and then about a week later got another message that the batteries were again low. I suspected this was false so I removed the batteries and checked them with the volt meter and all four batteries were at or near full charge as expected since they are only a week old so its clearly something in the firmware etc for Netgear.

My problem was a sync issue. Since the camera didin't sync properly, it still had the old battery level, not the new battery status. I have a couple of volt meters that are older than most members of this forum that tell me the batteries are good!

The batteries read the exact same low percentage 9% and 11% after battery replacement and rebooting the base. The batteries were from 2 different packages. It is not the batteries. There is a problem that the base is not getting the signal that the batteries are all better.
