How does the NETGEAR Base Station VMB3000 broadcast itself to the individual cameras.

I am on an Enterprise Network where they do not like personal routers since they don't want devices that broadcast their own IPv4 addresses. I read in another forum that the cameras are not connected through WiFi since that would drain the batteries a lot faster. That it uses an "ultra low power method", does this mean Bluetooth???

Thank you in advance for any help!

J

It's 2.4GHz WiFi that's totally self-contained. It's as if you set up your own network while connected to the company network. It appears to be encrypted and likely uses wps2 to build the contained network.
