VMB3000 - setup trouble - all lights on base station rapidly flashing endlessly

I was trying to setup my newly acquired VMB3000. On the first few attempts, the power turned to amber after a couple of minutes. I tried a reset, based on some recommendations here. However, since the reset, every time I switch the device on, all the lights on the base station blink rapidly, in an endless sequence. Any clues? I hope this is not catastrophic, since I am not sure about support options here in India.

For starters, to do a reset, just press the reset button by itself until the base LEDs flash amber. Try again and see if that helps. If not, return it to the store as defective and swap for another system.

Thanks. Returning it is going to be slightly inconvenient since I bought this in Oregon last week and now I am back in India. Let me see if somebody can carry it back!
