Base Sync lignt does not blink

Just received my Arlo wireless 2 camera system. Base connected to router, the first two lights are green, but when I hold the sync button on the base for a couple of seconds, the sync light does not blink. Tried many times, turned off and back on to no avail. What am I missing.

The instructions you're probably following are outdated.

Press the sync button only very briefly. Under 1/2 second.

The printed manual(s) were never updated by Netgear and the UI has since changed numerous times.
