What does position mode do? All I see is a view from the camera there are no options.

It simply allows you to view the scene while adjusting the camera position. It's essentially the same thing as live view (which I prefer to use for positioning since the Positioning Mode seems to introduce lag while viewing).

My camera is showing white. Not working. Even next to base/wifi.

As in an all white video? Sounds like a hardware issue. Opening and closing the battery door may help. Otherwise, submit a trouble ticket for potential replacement.
