Looking for a way to save a snapshot to my I pad for further viewing.

When viewing a video or snapshot you have the option to download it under the video/snapshot.

Still no solution. I don't get videos, sat is too slow. I get live updates, still pictures. I can't find a way to move those stills from the camera to the library. Or some way to download the live still image from the camera to anywhere. Anyone have any ideas?

I wish I could get my wire free cameras to even create a snapshot! My Q does just fine, wire free...not so much.

When live viewing the camera click the camera icon to take a snapshot. The snapshot will then appear in the library where it can be downloaded locally if you choose to.

Are you getting any error messages when trying to take a snapshot?

I don't have iOS but I'd bet you do. You need to set the appropriate permissions to download. There are solutions found by search here or maybe someone else can jump in.
