Camera offline red light on

Every thing has been working fine and then one of my two cameras went off line. When i tried to resync it ,a reddish light just comes on briefly , goes out and nothing more. Any answers. Not a tech minded person : (

Did you try new batteries? Maybe they're dead.

Changing batteries no help. Tried rebooting, no go .The camera is not very old and doesn't get a lot of traffic so unlikely it is suffering from over use !! so it has to be something else. Dud camera??
