newbie question.

Does checking on the live stream (watching it on my iPad) use up the battery? I have had it installed for 12 hrs and see the battery meter has dropped already.

Yes... viewing or recording use the most battery power. That's the main reason why the Arlos system is "motion detect record". The standby mode to detect motion uses less.

As you may or may not know, spec usage to get the 4-6 life span on batteries is 4 mins per day when set at optimized video quality.

Order rechargeable on amazon, I did , saves me a ton of money
