Issue with viewing feed in landscape mode

After today’s app update when I go to the feed, watch the first vid, turn my phone sideways to view in landscape mode, when I swipe left to view the next vid and the next and the next, about every 3rd vid shows a black screen. I can swipe left/right a few times to get it to show but this is a new bug. Landscape swipe left used to work perfectly.

And no, I’m not going to turn off my phone, or uninstall the app and reinstall, and yada yada yada.

You guys just need to do better in testing and deploying updates.

The development team is currently investigating this and working on a resolution. We'll keep you posted as we receive more information.

The same problem here with the iPad since version 6.29.0. Same error with 6.30.0. On a 2nd iPad I still have version 6.28.0. Everything works right there.
Instead of fixing errors, errors are unfortunately added to almost every update.

And a new thing for me is that when you swipe videos after playing two or three, they play in the background with nothing being shown (app version 6.30.1).

Issues are on-going and new ones appear with every new realise. This is unacceptable. It's also clear to me that users are unhappy with the way things are at the moment.

We as a community should consider an executive team complaint - after requests for improvements on here in particular have been unsuccessful - so that the issue of poor software/firmware can be internally addressed: why this is continuing to happen and what improvements can be made to stop new and major issues from occuring with every single update.

The fix for this issue will be available in 6.31.1, which should be rolling out very soon. I will provide an update once I have more information to share.

Just installed version 6.31.1 (28631). The error has been fixed.

Entschuldigen Sie bitte aber ich habe auf Deutsch lange nicht geschrieben (auch nicht gesprochen!).

Sie mussen warten bis die App aktuliziert zu 6.31.1 ist.

Sie mussen Google Play Store nachsehen herauszufinden wann Google die App [releases].

Offnen Sie den Google Play Store und wahle 'Available updates'.

Meine Arlo App wurde noch nicht aktualisiert. Ich warte auch fur die App zu auktualizieren werden.

After checking the internal ticket related to this issue, the latest information states that more improvements have been made and it will be fully resolved in version 6.34. Testing is still ongoing, I will keep you posted.

Thanks. Looking forward to getting that fixed, though in mild anticipation of something else being broken instead. Why do things get broken with each release in the first place? @JamesC

Arlo is a complex app. The user base consists of innumerable combinations when you consider all of the different mobile devices being used, OS versions and unique configurations of cameras, automations and third-party integrations available within the system. While this isn't meant to be justification for allowing issues to escape into the field, we absolutely need to continue to do better, these layers of complexity do present some challenges when testing for every possible unique configuration and use case. We certainly understand these issues are frustrating and we are always updating internal processes to better understand and eliminate the gaps.

I realize this is no consolation for those who encounter these issues and ultimately, we need to do better and will continue to focus our efforts targeting areas that prevent this sort of thing from finding it's way into the field in the first place.

We appreciate all of the community feedback and engagement that raises attention to these issues.
