Forced update breaks custom schedules

The new app (forced update) has broken all previous schedules for my 2 arlo cameras. The update actually turned off the schedules and placed everything into Standby mode. (glad i wasnt' broken into last night - one to note Arlo...)

I just need some simple instructions on how to:

1) Enable one camera to be on at all times

2) Enable one camera to only be active between 7am and midnight.

Pretty easy, but the app looks like it no longer supports custom schedules for multiple cameras.

If someone can explain the steps (like I'm a 6 year old) then I would be very much appreicative. The new app is extremely confusing with no help / walkthrough screens.

Edit your modes in Routines. For Arm Away, both cameras should already be there - if not, add the missing one's rule. For Arm Home, add a rule for only the one camera you want to be active all the time.

Then click on the "+" to add 2 schedules. One will need a start time and days to be active, as appropriate, followed by Then Do This to change the mode to Arm Away. Be sure to use Save at any step. Create a second schedule for the single camera to be active with the appropriate time and days and change the mode to Arm Home. No stop times are used since the mode switch causes that to not be needed.

thanks for the explanation however after setting up the automations to change modes with different camera groupings, the automation doesn’t change the mode at the specific time.

i followed your instructions verbatim which make sense - but the mode doesn’t change at the specific time

Can you post screenshots of the automations?

Usually the problem is that they are not enabled in the correct modes. So I suggest going into the mode settings for both Arm Away and Arm Home, and making sure that both automations are enabled in both modes.

These settings should work according to the documentation. However the mode doesn't switch automatically at 10pm to turn the two cameras on (Arm Away) - and a single camera only is on at all times - 24/7 (Arm Home)

They aren't enabled in the correct modes.

The schedule automation that switches you to "Arm Home" is set up so that it only runs when the system is already in "Arm Home". You need to enable that one to also run in "Arm Away". Otherwise it does nothing.
Similarly, the automation that switches to "Arm Away" is set up so that it only runs when the system is already in "Arm Away". That needs to be also enabled in "Arm Home".

For the benefit of others who are struggling with the abstract and idiosyncratic nature of the new arlo app I'm posting a screenshot of the final automation settings - thanks to StephenB for the suggestion. Both automations do indeed need to be active in both Home and Away modes.
