If you're looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, and wife-approved home security system, the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera Gen 2—paired with the Arlo iPhone app—is an absolute game-changer.

I originally purchased a 3-pack of cameras to monitor our rural 5-acre property, and within days, my wife insisted we needed more. That says everything. I quickly added another 3-pack, an Arlo Go 2, and the Arlo Video Doorbell. Now we’ve got full perimeter coverage, and the peace of mind is priceless.

The Arlo app is clean, intuitive, and uncluttered—exactly what we needed. No unnecessary bells and whistles, just quick access to live feeds and alerts. It passed the "wife test" with flying colors!

The solar chargers are fantastic—I only need to adjust their positioning a couple of times a year to catch the best sun. The Arlo Go 2 has been a true blessing, especially when we needed to monitor my father-in-law in our ADU after he had a bad fall. Being able to check in on him 24/7, from anywhere, was a lifesaver—literally.

And yes, I'm that guy who gets asked all the time what security system I use. I proudly recommend Arlo every time. I'm even planning to add a few Ultra cameras in the near future for higher-resolution monitoring in key spots.

Arlo is crap! The crap doesn’t record to the smart hub to be able to look at recorded footage that it didn’t record. They only want you to pay for cloud space. It’s a sham!

Some of the SmartHub and Basestation do record to your local storage. If you are seeing issues with this can you see if all these steps were followed.
