A new install of the doorbell may need a firmware update to allow it to connect to a base/hub so WiFi is the initial step. However, 3 inches from the router is way too close - try 5-6 feet. Do you have another phone to try instead of your Samsung? Maybe use a friend's, load the app, log in, run the setup and then delete the app.

Also, be sure your router's SSID and password don't have spaces and/or special characters. Encryption should be set to WPA2 (AES).

Hi I am in the UK , I have a wirefree Arlo Essential Door bell and chime , arlo pro 3 cameras a floodlight and a basestation. I can connect all of the cameras and the floodlight to the Base station. When I try to connect the doorbell , my doorbell is found but it then says you must update software but it then says software update not found. On further investigation it appears that you can only connect this Doorbell model to wi-fi.

I have set my router to 2.4G. and turned off 5G. I have gone through the installation process several times. The QR code works and it gives a chime . However it still cannot find my doorbell , the flashing lights eventually turn orange . I am literally sat with my android phone S21 and the doorbell 3 inches away from the router. I have wasted a huge amount of time trying to get it to connect. Does anyone know how to resolve this ?
