2nd Gen Doorbell Model AVD4001

Newly acquired, first Arlo product. Set-up says to use only 2.4g WiFi system. If I also have a 5G WiFi system so I wondered can I connect and use the 5G WiFi system?

The word 'only' implies that no other must be used. Therefore, to set up your new purchase, you have to use 2.4GHz.

So if my Arlo is on the 2.4Gz WiFi but my phone happens to be connected to the 5Gz, will the Arlo info/data still reach my phone?

My own router (an Orbi mesh) is tri-band (2.4, 5, and 6 ghz). I have no problem accessing the Arlo system no matter which channel I am using.

FWIW, I've ignored the instructions to only use 2.4 ghz, and so far I have been able to install my Arlo cameras and doorbells with no problem. So you could simply try to do that. It's not guaranteed to work with all routers, but it does with mine. So if your router lets you disable the 5 ghz radio (or set it up as a separate network), then do that during the install. It won't be a problem after the install is successful.

Thank you both for replying. My Arlo 2nd Gen Doorbell is all installed and working! Thank you so much! I know I'll have more questions as I add system equipment!
