I would like to test the #Arlo Video Doorbell 2nd Gen to find out how good it works at varying distances from router and how long battery lasts with constant movement around my porch and how good quality of infrared imagery at night in the country.

Constant motion is going to be a problem for battery life. Connecting it to existing wiring should help but may still deplete the battery if motion is being recorded all the time.

You can test for signal strength using your phone and a WiFi signal app to monitor strength at those various distances.

The IR LEDs are good out to maybe 15 feet (if you're lucky). You'll get the best quality as someone approaches the doorbell rather than moving around at some distance.
