Chime buzzing 1 week after installing video doorbell

I purchased two Arlo 2nd generation doorbell cams - 1 for front door and one for back door. I set them up in the wired configuration. I used my existing transformer and chime. I did not add or use any Arlo power products. About a week after installing the doorbell, I heard a loud buzzing noise coming from the chime. I figured the chime was bad so I get a new one from Lowe's. Same problem after install. Ok, maybe the transformer is bad. I go back to Lowe's and buy a transformer. I set it up for 18V and install it. Still have the same buzzing noise. If it's not the chime, and it's not the transformer, what could be wrong?

It certainly could be one of the doorbells.

Try disconnecting the front doorbell, and see if the buzz stops. If it continues, then reconnect the front doorbell and disconnect the back, and see if that eliminates the buzz.

Unfortunately, that did not help. My neighbor told me he had a similar problem with his system. The installer came back out and installed a "resistor" and the buzzing stopped. It was years ago, and the tech no longer works for the installation company.

The wired doorbell (AVD1001) required a power kit, but the 2nd Gen doorbell does not. FWIW this is not a resistor.

Are you saying that the buzz continued with either doorbell connected (not both at the same time)?

What model chime do you have?
