Yes! Longer power cord and e cords would be nice. I'm at the limit especially on the power cord being plugged in to surge protector.

Why are all of our Pro2 cameras and now our brand new Ultra2 cams not consistently recording at the times we have set? We have some set to 1 minute, some to 35 seconds, etc, but they will 'ignore' the rule and record for 1 sec, 3 secs, 36 seconds instead of always being the correct length for which they are set.
This happens approx 3 out of 10 videos no matter what camera it is.

What base or hub are you using? This rather sounds like a connection problem between the base/hub and the cameras. You can try moving that base/hub as far away from your router as practical as well as to look for new or moved wireless devices that also use the 2.4GHz band, likely near the base/hub.

We have a 4000vmb and a 5000 that cam with system. They sit next to each other on top of a 52" file cabinet. Could that be it? Arlo does not give long enough cords, power or internet, to place them away from each other and connect to the router/modem that is on the floor.

It's best to have some space between the two bases (and of course between the bases and the router).

Maybe try moving the VMB4000 to the floor as a test???

Yes that worked so far. Placed 4000 base on floor on other side of file cabinet from router/modem and 5000 is on top of cabinet. Times have been consistent with rules that are set.

Thanks!

Great.

The reason for the spacing is that when you put the base right next to a router (or another base), the WiFi sent from the adjacent device can overload the antenna system of the base. (Likewise, the base WiFi can overload the antenna system of the router). The WiFi signal strength drops very quickly as you move away from the transmitter, so having a short distance between the devices can eliminate this problem.

Arlo suggests 6 feet from the router. Personally I think they should provlde a longer ethernet cable, as that would make it easier to place the base appropriately.
