Continuous Video Recording

I am thinking about transitioning from my old Nest cameras to Arlo. One feature that is a must-have for me is continuous video recording (ability to scroll back to watch video that didn’t trigger a clip/notification/event). I found an article regarding this feature being available with certain cameras, but couldn’t find pricing. Is this included in the Arlo Secure plan at $149.99 per year?

No it requires a separate subscription. Plus the cameras need to be connected to AC power (not solar).

I saw that article, and knew that they need to be connected to AC power. That’s not a problem as I would do that anyway. My Nest cameras are already AC-powered.

Do you know how much the CVR subscription is annually? And is it per camera or for unlimited cameras. I currently have 4 Nest cameras; I would be replacing all of them and possibly adding a 5th.

Unfortunately this information is not readily available, and it factors heavily into my decision. I spent more than an hour on the Arlo website trying to find it, without any success.

The CVR plan Is around 15$ per month for one camera atleast for me in Norway.

However im not happy with it as the hub goes offline after + - 20 min and you have to refresh the page and log back on. Hope they fix that soon.

@Mosconi Thanks for that information. At that price point I don’t think I’ll be going with Arlo for my new cameras. No wonder they don’t advertise that pricing on their website! That would cost me roughly as much for 2 months as I pay for an entire year with Nest. My Nest subscription includes 24/7 video recording (10 days storage) for an unlimited number of cameras for $150/year.

I was hoping to go with Arlo because a) I’m not particularly fond of Google, and b) Arlo cameras offer better resolution and seem to be a better product all around. But I just can’t justify spending that much for the service.

I guess it’s time to look into other options.
