Interesting, and worth sorting out.

Activity zones definitely don't change the camera aperature. But it is still possible that they could (hypothetically) affect the low-light threshold detection. That would require the camera to know where the activity zones are (even though they are processed in the cloud).

Is the camera in this location AC powered? Or is it just on battery?

Activity Zone Impact On Night Vision. Do activity zones limit where camera sees light?

I have two Ultra 2 cameras w/5000r6 base. I noticed that one camera was switching to night vision much earlier than the second camera. Light conditions for both were very similar. Was concerned I had a bad camera, so I swapped locations to see if it was the location or camera. Turned out it was not the location or the camera. I discovered that when I removed the Activity Zone on the camera that was switching to night vision early, both cameras switched to night vision at approximately the same time. Apparently, Activity Zones have an impact on cameras switching from color to night vision. Is this normal? Do activity zones limit where cameras see light, in addition to where they see motion? Has anybody else found this to be true?
