VMB 5000 without ethernet cable

Is there a way to store and view Pro 4 Camera recodings to my VMB 5000 Base Station, without using an Ethernet cable to connect the base station to the WiFi Router?

Store? Maybe if everything was set up previously when connected (haven't tried this - the hub may still need to be connected to the servers for this to work). View? Not a chance.

Is the problem that you don't have an open LAN port on the router?

VMB5000 DOES need to be connected to the router. The default way is a physical LAN cable connecting between the LAN ports of VMB5000 and Router. Understand there may be situations where this not achievable:

1. VMB and router are physically too far away. VMB is likely placed at a location optimal to the cameras, but then such location may be too far away from router. My solution to this is to use ethernet power powerline like this netgear ones.

2. Wifi router does NOT have any LAN port. I don't have proven solution to recommend, but guess you should be able to buy an adaptor, that comes with LAN port for physical connection to VMB, while connecting itself to WIFI router.

For (2), assuming the router has at least one LAN port, you can get an inexpensive gigabit switch.

A WiFi extender with an ethernet port is another option - pairing the extender with the router wifi, and connecting the ethernet to the smarthub.
