Which Security Camera is Better: Arlo Ultra vs Arlo Ultra 2

Hello everyone! I run an electronic store that deals in shop appliances. For the past week, I have been worried about the security of my shop. There have been many theft cases in my neighbourhood. Therefore, I am looking to install reliable security cameras. I'm currently confused between Arlo Ultra and Arlo Ultra 2. Has anyone used both of these models? Are these two models worth the investment?

The Ultra 2 replaced the Ultra in Arlo's lineup back in 2020. So any new inventory would be the Ultra 2. The main difference is that the Ultra 2 can connect to the smarthub using either 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz wifi.

Are you planning to put the cameras indoors? Or would you use them outdoors?

Thank you for your reply. I am planning to install the cameras both inside and outside at my electronics shop to monitor shop appliances and enhance security.

And are you planning to get a subscription? That does effect the equipment you need.

You could go with Ultra 2 cameras and a smarthub. The smarthub would be connected with wired ethernet, and the cameras would connect to a closed wifi network created by the smarthub.

You could alternatively get the less expensive Essential Gen 2 cameras (2K, not 4K) with no smarthub and a subscription. If there is power at the indoor locations, you could go with the Essential Indoor cameras. They analyze the video for motion instead of using a passive infrared (PIR) sensor, which has some advantages.

Arlo uses a pretty low bitrate for their recordings, so there isn't a big drop-off in clarity with the 2K models.
