How many Ultra 2 cameras per Smarthub VMB5000?

How many Ultra 2 cameras can be connected to a single VMB5000 SmartHub?

And does adding a Video Doorbell 2K reduce that limit?

The only documentation I found was about how many camera feeds can be viewed at the same time from the app, not how many can be connected to the hub and possibly recording.

I believe that the limit is 15 arlo Cameras/doorbells/devices for individual Base stations/hubs. Streaming is limited to max of 5 of these devices at the same time so that includes recordings.

The higher resolution devices will impact the system streaming capabilities so may increase latency of streaming.

I've seen the 15 camera limit posted before, but I am not sure it is correct. The only reference to 15 cameras I see in the KB is here:

But the 5 simultaneous streams is a limit that should factor into your decision on how many cameras to add to the base. Cameras often will trigger at about the same time if the field of view overlaps (or are adjacent). If you want to get all the recordings then you need to be careful on how many cameras you add to the base. Details depend on the specifics of how your cameras are placed and how much activity there is in their field of view.

Another other factor is the wifi range, which in practice often forces you to use multiple bases (or connect your cameras to a wifi mesh network).

I don't think the type of camera has much effect on the number of cameras you can add. Though of course 2K and 4K models do require more bandwidth.

I happen to have 12 cameras connected to my VMB5000 hub with no issues. The max number of connections isn't a hard limit but one of the hub's hardware being able to properly service all devices. This was answered quite some time ago by @JamesC in an old thread. The 5 camera limit for simultaneous streaming remains the same.
