I have had Arlo camera systems for more than ten years so I have a little experience with them. Currently I have an Ultra2 system, highest Cox Internet speed, a router built for 100 devices and I only have a total (including iphones, tvs etc) of about 30, and I have never had cameras falling off the hub connection before, but I am increasingly having several. I have taken all the normal actions and my software is up to date. I set up a Lorex system at my daughter's house and she never has any issues. Is anyone else having the same problem I am with my Ultra2 camera connectivty.

If it is too close, you can get wifi intererence. Normally we suggest 5-6 feet as the minimum distance (about as far as the supplied smarthub camera will reach).

You could try turning off the router wifi as a test, and see if that changes the behavior.

Thanks for the info and suggestions. I don't understand turning off the router, as I thought the cameras required wi-fi to work, HOWEVER,

I have ordered upgraded cat-8 cables to replace my system's current cat-7 cables and bought a longer Ethernet cable, so I can place my Arlo base further from the router.

Thanks again.

Only cameras connected directly to your WiFi would be affected by temporarily turning off WiFi for testing. Anything connected to the hub still works since the hub itself is connected via Ethernet. Of course, your WiFi could be interfering with the hub's WiFi which is the reason for suggesting a greater distance between the router and hub.

The cameras connect to wifi generated by the smarthub. Turning off the router wifi (not the entire router) would tell you whether the problem is wifi interference or not.

If the symptoms don't change with the router wifi off, then the problem is not the distance between the smarthub and the router. If they do change, then that is the cause.
