topic Local Recording in Arlo Ultra

Just interested if anyone else had this problem. I purchased the Arlo Ultra system 2-3 years ago. After free trial I subscribed to an Arlo Plan. Eventually I realized I could record video locally on an SD card inserted into the base station. That worked fine until recently. Now the base station recognizes there is an SD card but does not record to it. I continue to get an error message stating there are no recordings and to check my connection. It appears all systems are go and functioning as they should but still will not record locally. I then contacted Arlo Support and they tell me I require an Arlo account costing $149 for three years. Why is an account necessary to record locally? Has anyone else experienced this? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

No you didn't. You reached a scam support site (likely a result of googling for a phone number).

https://kb.arlo.com/000062119/How-can-I-avoid-Arlo-support-scams

You could try resetting the smarthub (and reonboarding the cameras). Painful, but I think that is the next step.
