Can you confirm that you have the VMC3030 camera? It uses four CR123 batteries, and it has 720p resolution.

Chrome can play 720p and 1080p videos from Arlo cameras with no problems. But it will not play 2K or 4K recordings from newer cameras. So those need to be downloaded.

If you have a new enough PC (6th generation CPU or later), then you can play them in Edge - though you need to purchase the HEVC Windows Extension from Microsoft (in the Microsoft Store). That costs $0.99.
