Anyone using the new 'updated' solar panel and tell me whether it charges using UV light?

Greetings

Anyone using the new 'updated' solar panel and could tell me whether it charges using UV light?

I got version 1 of the panel that is being phased out, but it looks like it works in direct sunlight only (or stoped working altogether). This is a problem for me because we ain't getting a lot of sunshine here in Scotland.

Traditional photovoltaic panels will not convert UV. Also, UV is only a small fraction of the sunlight that reaches the ground, so it wouldn't help much. (In space about 10% of the light is UV, and the atmosphere blocks >75% of that).
