topic Camera firmware update not possible when AC powered only? in Arlo Ultra

I have a camera in a hard to access place AC powered only (ie constantly connected to charger) so I don’t have to swap batteries on it. But now I am not able to access it through Arlo app because it requires a firmware update, and says it needs a battery in it to do the firmware update?! Is this true?? Seems a bit illogical when it has a continuous power source.

(I can’t attach the iPhone .jpeg screenshot as Arlo only accepts .jpg, not .jpeg, files).

Leaving the battery in is always a good thing since power loss shuts the camera down. Think of it as a UPS for the camera. Of course, it also helps to have a UPS for your modem, router and hub, too. Unfortunately, it sounds like you'll need to put the battery in regardless. I suppose it's because power could be lost during the update which could brick the camera.

BTW, all you would need to do to upload that image would be to rename the file from .jpeg to .jpg.
