For the Ultra no it requires a smart hub it doesn't directly connect to wifi. I believe the new "Essential" cam comming in July can connect to wifi or base. Seems to be an upgrade of the Pro2 in 1080p.

Essential cameras will require a subscription. Some people will see that as a downgrade to the Pro 2.

The Pro 3 Floodlight also works with or without a hub.

True, The trend is all future releases will require a subscription after the pro2's.
