Plus sign on Dashboard

What is really the function of the plus sign on the dashboard if it doesn't work? I had to reset one of my Ultras and wanted to add it from the dashboard, but couldn't. Is that sign ever active, or is it just for decorative purposes? Also asking for a friend.

The + sign on the dashboard adds widgets to the dashboard.

If you want to add devices, you need to use the + sign on the devices page.

FYI, at least on the Android app and web, the + on the Devices tab allows you to add both widgets as well as new devices.

I think you meant the dashboard.

I just double-checked iOS, and pressing + also gives both options on the dashboard page. Pressing "add a Device" brings me to the normal "add device" screen. So it appears to work correctly with iOS.

Exactly, so not just adding new widgets to the dashboard but also adding new devices. If I remove a camera from the dashboard, the plus sign becomes active and I can also add a device, as well as a widget. If I've added all widgets, you can't use the plus sign anymore, even to add a device.

Who designs and tests this nonsense, though I realise it's more of a rhetorical question really.

I only worked that out after doing some more testing. Ultimately, it doesn't work, and that's what James and his team of developers need to know, to then do some testing to find out why.

I'll reiterate: I shouldn't have to be doing testing for Arlo. This is not a GitHub project where other users contribute, @StephenB , because it's not even on GitHub, but a package that is a commercial product that costs a lot of money. It should have been tested inside out, and time and time again, this forum, and elsewhere, is a proof that it's not.

It worries me a bit that you seem to start thinking like them in this respect.

It wasn't clear to me that you were just reporting the issue to Arlo. I checked it on my own system, and it worked fine (since I don't have all my cameras on the dashboard).
