Geofencing and Schedules

Hi all,

Long term Arlo user here that is struggling with Geofencing and Schedules in the new app.

I've talked to Arlo but their support was useless and said what I want to do isn't possible. I don't believe them.

Apologies if this is like other posts; I did an extensive search but I can't find something similar that is using the latest software (Arlo app 6.1.0 (9549)).

1. Schedules that set Standby at 7am and then Arm Home at 9pm, every day.

2. When both phones leave the house (I only have 2 registered), set to Arm Away.

3. When either phone arrives home, go back to the schedule states in step 1.

I'm sure this is achievable if you play around with the enabling and disabling of the schedules when someone comes home but I can't get it in my head.

Any help is very much appreciated.

This is the step that is not possible (a miss on Arlo's part).

When either arrives, you need to specify a fixed mode ("Arm Home" or "Standby"). The schedule resumes at the next trigger time (the next 7 am or 9 pm in your case). It's safest to have the system change to "Arm Home" when you return, and remember to manually change to "Standby" if you arrive before 9 pm.

Such a shame they have removed a really good feature and probably set people on the path of looking for a new solution.

Anyone know if they are going to fix this? I got this from Tech Support but I'm dubious:

I reached out to my internal team, and they informed that once the custom mode option is available for the new Arlo app interface, then your option can be set in the rules. It will be implemented in the upcoming updates.

They have said they are adding back custom modes here, so I think your information is correct.
